In the aftermath of Hurricane Idalia, we find ourselves in the Big Bend area of Florida, specifically in Perry, where small businesses are facing the daunting task of recovery. Secretary Kelly and his team have been tirelessly working to assist Floridians, and today they are stationed in Perry, providing face-to-face support for small business owners. Structurally flexible, the Corridor recently adopted the name "Florida High Tech Corridor" to better represent its role as a resource hub. Unlike a membership-based organization, it offers a plethora of resources to companies without imposing any fees.

One of the cornerstones of their assistance lies in the realm of SBIR and STTR programs. These programs, funded by the SBA across 11 agencies, provide essential resources for startups seeking financial support. With their seasoned team's expertise, the Corridor assists businesses in strategically engaging with these programs, fostering growth and innovation.

Furthermore, the Corridor serves as the FAST Center for Florida, helping businesses determine the ideal agency fit and providing resources and training for those stepping into the SBIR and STTR landscape.

Starting with a single truck, they learned the ropes and gained experience. Bolstered by personal savings, they expanded their fleet to three trucks within a year. Five dedicated drivers joined their team, pushing the boundaries of their own capabilities.

Lelia, initially unsure of her role, found her niche in dispatching and managing operations. Her analytical skills came to the forefront, contributing to the business's success. The startup journey wasn't easy, and they faced numerous challenges – from regulatory hurdles to maintaining vehicles and taking care of drivers.
